I just got out of a 5 1/2 year relationship, but it was a long time coming. We were mainly on and off and finally both came to the realization that there is more out in the world for us both. So here I sit, without my best friend and our core group of friends (need a break from everyone) , but ready to venture out to meet new friends and possibly someone new. I am a history teacher, so being knowledgeable and understanding the world around me is super important. I am also getting my masters in U.S. History so I’m pretty busy these days (hence why I go to Craigslist to meet people). I also have two dogs that I love a lot, and try to take to the dog park as much as possible. I am also a firm believer in living a positive life, and think that you get out of life what you put into it. I do have my moments but try to stay centered and in the present as much as possible. I do attend church semi-regularly, but it is a different type of church that takes from all religions and stresses the oneness and connectedness of all individuals. I am not much into the winter sports, but absolutely love camping and hiking in the summer, and am looking for a new group to go with next year. I also have the travel bug, although I haven’t been out of the U.S. except for Canada and Costa Rica (hopefully that will change soon). I also enjoy playing texas holdem, karaoke, playing board games, watching movies, or just reading a good book. I am just as comfortable staying in and cooking dinner as I am going out.

What I’m looking for:
Someone with a positive outlook on life and who enjoys the world he lives in. Left leaning would be nice, and hopefully he would share a lot of the same interests. I like to get a beer now and then, but after being with someone who has an addictive personality for so long, I am not looking for someone who needs it on a daily basis. I am looking for a long term relationship (although I believe friendship is the foundation), but don’t necessarily need it
