Liberal Arts Beyond the Lies of Liberalism Liberalism has thoroughly confused liberty with license & licence with virtue; self-government is abandoned self-esteem on the one hand, & self-knowledge for the PC Police on the other. Genuine Liberal Arts--the Trivium & Quadrivium--cultivate true intellectual, moral, & spiritual liberty; they are opposed to all the servile arts that now pass for education, & the slavishness fostered by proponents of ideology, legalism, secularism, relativism, subjectivism, materialism, libertinism, all the various isms, ad nauseum, of what is essentially bourgeois nihilism. Liberal Arts without Theology & Philosophy is the biggest lie of Modernism & Postmodernism, of which we have been & are still reaping & will continue to reap so long as we are blindly contented with the mindless rewards.
This teacher wants to see a revolution in education that returns to the original & radical significance of learning, to an elitism of knowledge & principle over the egalitarianism of opinion & preference, to the replacement of the self-serving myopic managerial/bureaucratic mindset with the genuine authority of scholars & philosophers, of the experts of teaching & learning as well as of the 3 R's, to the Restoration of the Reign of Quality over the Reign of Quantity.
