I teach/train in the adult phase (Skills and Further Education)(typically 18+ but can go from 14+) for a charity based independent training provider. My specialism is in workplace training (I.e health & safety related, first aid, mental health) and deliver/assess related qualifications. I have a specialism general SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) with an increased focus Specific learning difficulties (SpLD) with autism being my strongest area.
I enjoy seeing how teaching is more than the subject at hand and how it can make a real difference to peoples lives through wider professional practice particularly when learners carry bad experiences of compulsory education.
While I have been educating in a paid capacity for over ten years and if including voluntary work 17, I only received full qualified teacher status and qualified teacher learning and skills status (QTS/QTLS) mid 2025. I am a full assessor (CAVA) and about to be fully qualified as an internal quality assurer (IQA).

I have been interested in becoming a specialist teacher in SpLD but still working out where life is taking me.
