I find the ideas of Warren Farrell and Mary Wollstonecraft both helpful and intriguing. I'm an intellectual, but sometimes I feel misunderstood. I will listen to your opinions, I will sincerely consider them, but I sincerely hope that you will do the same for me. As you may know, many people these days are quite closed minded.
Spiritually, I'm the artist sort. I was supposed be a smoker - but am not. I get a kick wandering in the hills of Austria, like Leigh Fermor with his hiking stick, and on other occasions putting on some recherché togs and enjoying a good book, perhaps Thackeray's 'Vanity Fair' or a collection of Shakespeare's plays, in an outdoor cafe and watching the people going by in one of Europe's big cities. Maybe afterwards, to gad about in the museum district. If you like pleasant activities like that, then stitch together a letter and send it to me.
In addition, I'm a movie aficionado! I love history, and culture, but also understand and value the importance of friendship and loyal companionship. People should not become robots, and should be genuinely kind to each other.
If you are willing to be kind and civilised with me, then I will certainly consider it with you - on an equal footing. The age of knights is over, and so is the age of the damsel being forever in distress. Men shouldn't control through force and huge egos, and women shouldn't control, as Wollstonecraft said, through their charms and weakness.How about rational ideas?
